On August 21, Syngenta Group China’s MAP (Modern Agriculture Platform) released its 2024 Green and High-Quality Development Report, showcasing fresh approaches and experience in using modern agricultural technologies to drive green growth in agriculture in an all-round manner. This is the fifth year in a row the company has published such a report, reflecting its sustained commitment to sustainable agriculture. The report focuses on core crops including corn, wheat, rice, cotton, and potatoes, and evaluates progress across four key dimensions: resource efficiency, environmental friendliness, improvement of efficacy of the industry, and green supply. Covering essential factors such as land, water, fertilizers, pesticides, carbon, and output value, the report provides a comprehensive picture of how MAP is advancing green and high-quality agricultural development. In 2024, MAP rolled out its whole-process technical solutions across more than 35 million mu of farmland. By combining advanced technologies, MAP has helped conserve resources, reduce environmental impact, improve efficiency across the industry, and strengthen the supply of green products. The report notes that farmers working with MAP achieved a green index score 23.55 percent higher than non-MAP farmers. Looking ahead, MAP will build on food security, resource security, and ecological security to advance regenerative agriculture, water-saving irrigation, artificial intelligence, and other green and low-carbon technologies, working hand in hand with growers to drive sustainable, high-quality agricultural development. |
